MIDDLE CREEK RANCH
The Middle Creek Ranch is an 800 acre ranch that
sits in an isolated canyon in the middle of government ground. It is about
15 miles west of Dubois, Idaho. It has over 3 miles of creek meandering
through the ranch, not more than 6 miles from the Continental Divide that
separates Montana and Idaho.
In an area like this recreation is as abundant as
the wild life. You can find elk, deer, (white tail and mules) moose, bear
and antelope. In the last few years there has been over $100,000 put into
the creek to improve the irrigation system and the creek's fishery.
Indian artifacts have been found on the ranch with some hieroglyphics not far
away. Sheltered in the canyon with fish aplenty, wild life, wild berries
and obsidian made the ranch a natural for the Indians to come to. This
unique spot still has the beauty and the charm that it did for the Indians so
many years ago.
BUILDINGS AND IMPROVEMENTS
There are two cabins on the ranch. One cabin is a five
bedroom, two bath and the other one is a three bedroom, one bath cabin.
Each cabin has its own spring for water. The water has been tested and is
in the top 5% for purity. The irrigation is flood, with some sub
irrigation and some natural wet land. There are three fish ponds on
the property with good native trout in them.
Two older barns and the old home stead house are still standing,
waiting to be rediscovered.
With Indian artifacts and the old home stead, there has to be a
lot of history tied up in this unique, old ranch.
Middle Fork ranch can place you back in history with in a short
distance of Idaho Falls (50 mile away) with its airport and lots of good
shopping.
Sun Valley, Targhee and Kelly Canyon Ski Resorts are all in
driving distances. Yellowstone Park is about 75 miles away.
It's hard to find a place like this, filled with so much to do,
so out of the way, yet so close to the niceties of our modern times.
The price is $3,800,000.00.
